15 Day tour
September 4th – September 18th

Day 1 (Mon 4 Sep)   Catania / Siracusa
We begin our tour in Catania’s main Piazza 10:00am. We then head directly to Siracusa. Siracusa is a former ancient Greek city and the home of mathematician Archimedes. We visit the church of Santa Maria delle Lacrime, a modern architectural masterpiece before heading to the island of Ortigia which boasts a beautiful Baroque piazza and ancient Cathedral.
Day 2 (Tues 5 Sep)   Siracusa
Morning visit to the nearby Archeological Park Neapolis where we find the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre and the cave known as the Ear of Dionysius. Afternoon boat tour and visit to the Catacombs of San Giovanni are optional.
Day 3 (Wed 6 Sep)   Taormina
Morning departure for Taormina.
Taormina is a central jewel in Sicily’s crown. Visit the beautiful Greek Theatre with its stunning views, have a coffee and gelato in Piazza Belvedere or stroll the buzzy streets and laneways of this beautiful city.
Day 4 (Thu 7 Sep)   Taormina
Take the cable-car down to the beach of Isola Bella, hike to the Castello di Taormina or sit quietly in the Villa Comunale taking in the spectacular views.
Day 5 (Fri 8 Sep)   Lipari
Morning departure for Lipari
Lipari is the main centre of this beautiful archipelago known as the Aeolian Islands. It is a popular seaside venue boasting excellent local dishes. Visit the Castello surrounded by its 16th century Spanish walls and discover the renowned Aeolian Archeological Museum.
Day 6 (Sat 9 Sep)   Lipari
Day at leisure to wander the charming streets of the Marina Corta. Afternoon tour of the island by minibus.
Day 7 (Sun 10 Sep)   Lipari
Day at leisure to explore Lipari or take the opportunity to island hop.
Day 8 (Mon 11 Sep)   CefalùMorning departure for Cefalù
This characteristic coastal town is famous for its magnificent and dominant Norman Cathedral begun in 1131. Above the city are the remains of the Temple of Diana dating back to 4th – 2nd century BC.
Day 9 (Tues 12 Sep)   Cefalù
Opportunity to explore this seaside resort further. Swim, relax along the coastline of this beautiful town.
Day 10 (Wed 13 Sep)   Monreale / Palermo
Morning departure for Palermo
Today we visit the town of Monreale, renowned for its stunning Norman Cathedral, a masterpiece of mosaic art. Following our visit to Monreale we head down to Palermo. The capital of Sicily is a big, bustling metropolis boasting wonderful architecture. There is plenty to explore and discover. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 11 (Thu 14 Sep)   Palermo
Morning visit to the 12th century Palermo Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Normanni which dates back to the 9th century. On the way we visit the Fontana Pretoria also known as the Fountain of Shame. Afternoon at leisure to discover other treasures in this port city such as the Oratorio di San Lorenzo
Day 12 (Fri 15 Sep)   Castellammare del Golfo via Erice and Scopello
Morning departure for the mediaeval hill-top town of Erice. Afternoon stop at beautiful Scopello before arriving at Castellamare del Golfo on the west coast of Sicily. Absolutely breathtaking views.
Day 13 (Sat 16 Sep)   Castellammare del Golfo
Day to explore this pretty coastal town dominated by the fortress on the gulf that gives the town its name. Take a swim in the Tyrrhenian Sea or use the Hotel Pool.
Day 14 (Sun 17 Sep)   Palermo via Segesta
We return to Palermo via ancient Segesta where we visit the remarkable and significant Greek temple and theatre carved out of the hillside. Celebratory Final Dinner in Hotel.
Day 15 (Mon 18 Sep)   End of tour after breakfast.
